Salt of the earth 🧂🌍 is a great old time expression my mother the Great Granny Ruth would use to describe someone who was kind and down to earth. 🤝☺️

Salt through the ages has taken on a lot of forms and meaning.  Back in the day, salt was true wealth 🧂💰 because it was vital for survival and food preservation before refrigerators existed. It stopped meat from rotting, fed armies, and served as actual currency or tax in places like China, Rome, and Africa which would trade salt pound for pound for gold. 🧂🔁🪙

Now the irony is today they may tell you to take that blood pressure medicine 🩺🩸 and cut back on salt. 🚫🧂 Yet if something goes off the rails and you're at the ER the first thing they do is pump you with IV bags of saline 💉. It makes you wonder...🤔
