📰 TGIWednesday: Wabi-sabi 🏯🎎
It's not hot sauce 🔥🫙 or some foreign oriental garnish. Wabi-sabi is a traditional Japanese aesthetic 🏺 ⚱️ and philosophical concept that finds beauty in imperfection, impermanence, and simplicity.
Rooted in Zen Buddhism ☯, it teaches us to accept the natural cycle of growth and decay, celebrating the unique character of weathered, incomplete, or rustic objects.
During July we're focusing on independance and sometimes we have to just let things be as they are 🪷🧘. When the Mystic Fish cat showed up as a stray behind our home, I thought, "Ugh, I like cats with exacting perfect stripes 🐈 or all one color 🐈⬛ ." Of course my girlfriend said with a pitiful look, "We can't just leave him outside." Turns out he is a short hair male calico of which they are only one in 3,000. He has funny ears, green eyes, black, brown, orange and white colors ❤︎🤎🧡🤍, a pink nose and pink pads💗 on his paws. 🐱😻
He is a dude that's become my bang around pal in the house following me room to room, always looking to eat something different! 🥣☁️🍣 Stay imperfect, unusual and strange my friends. 🤪 If you're reading this, you are unique and not like the others and that's ok. Stay independent, fierce and true to yourself.💯
